Recently, America found a familiar face back in office: billionaire Donald Trump, hoping to possibly make America great again while being surrounded both by controversies and fervent support.
Donald Trump, who served one term from 2016-20, is widely known for his catchphrase, “Make America Great Again”; he desires to strengthen America’s economy and is not afraid to move progressively by calling to implement tariffs across international countries. Although he was praised by many, numerous controversies surrounded him; he was charged with 34 crimes of falsifying business records concerning transactions with adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
Alongside Democratic Kamala Harris, Trump carried out the presidential debate on Sep. 9. He failed to perform to the best ability, resorting to questionable remarks by stating that the immigrants were ‘eating our dogs, cats, and pets’ when discussing the state of the immigrants at Springfield.
Ultimately, many Americans believed that Trump would not be able to win the elections. However, millions were proven wrong when Trump took 312 of the electoral votes and won his second presidency.
Trump’s inauguration signifies multiple significant events for the future; on one hand, America’s economic improvement and increased investments in future events improving its economy and investing to even further extents; on the other, increased tensions in diplomatic relations with other countries. Time will tell for now, but the globe's future is unclear.
